Allegations of corruption and inappropriate sexual relations involving a former Wollongong Council officer and high profile developers took centre stage at an independent commission against corruption (ICAC) public hearing that began in Sydney this morning.

Much of the inquiry will examine the role of former Wollongong town planner Beth Morgan, who assessed a number of developments at the same time she was allegedly involved in sexual relationships with the developers. Ms Morgan slept with the men at different times in hotels.

Woman, 20, abducted and raped

SUBANG JAYA: A graphic designer with a Chinese daily was kidnapped and gang-raped near her home in USJ6 here early Sunday. In Sunday’s incident, the 20-year-old victim was dragged out of her car by a group of four men believed to have trailed her from Genting Highlands. The victim, who was kidnapped by three men at about 8.30am last Wednesday, was released at a housing estate in Cheras after the money was paid. She was also tied up in a sack and pack raped.

BODY FOUND IN GUNNY ACK

Autopsy reports show she died the day she was abducted. The 17-year-old gril who had been kidnapped from outside her school in KB on Thursday was found dead on Friday morning.
